Copying the file in “Backup” folder on memory card did not work. As someone suggested earlier, the file needs to be in the root folder of the memory card. After that restart phone and follow the same instructions as suggested in this article.

please how to resolve contacts name issue that after following the above said process, the names of contacts are showing reverse for example john bush is showing as bush john. please fix this issue thanxs

In reply to Vamsy Kiran M. firstly transfer contact.vcf file to your pc. Then, rename as backup.dat the file. then connect nokia 130 to pc through usb cable. transfer file backup.dat to nokia 130's memory card. Just restart the phone and then go to contacts then settings then restore contacts. thats it. enjoy!

i did every process accordingly. I the restore file…but when i try to restore it shows backup.dat file is corrupted

In reply to Raggy. Worked a treat used gparted in Linux Mint 18.3 to reformat micro sd card to FAT32 and copied "backup.dat" to /dev/sdc1 and recognised in contacts settings restore contacts . Very quick . Thank you ,

the backup.dat needs to be in the root, not a subfolder. I transferred my .vcf file via Bluetooth to the N130, then connected it via USB to my WinXP PC, at which point the N130 asked if I wanted to connection to be for Charging or Data Storage, I selected data…then Windows tried to install the Nokia but failed but still I could see it in a subfolder F:/ and there was a subfolder for Files Received, I renamed the .vcf to backup.dat but this didn’t work, so I copied the backup.dat and put it into the root F folder…and then I could see the option to Restore Contacts.
