In some cases, login to Dell Openmanage Server Administrator can be a bit tricky. You enter the right credentials but it fails, however.
Try these steps:
- Logged into your Windows server, go to https://localhost:1311.
- Enter the same user credentials which you use at the Windows login, e.g. “administrator”.
- Event if there is an Active Directory in your network, don’t check the AD box.
- Don’t mention any domain name etc. in the username field.
Now it should work.
If not, try it with the IP instead of localhost or the server name, or use 127.0.0.1.
This finally resolved my issue. Although I did downgrade from version 7.3 to version 7.1. The reason I downgraded was because of comments I read on other sites that mentioned login issues when using passwords with characters other than numbers/letters.
